Ms. Willson has worked in various types of libraries for over 15 years.  Before joining LIU Brooklyn Library in 2011, Ms. Willson served as the Director of the William Hallock Park Memorial Public Health Library of the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene for 5 years.  As the Health Sciences Librarian, she enjoys teaching LIU students how to effectively search for the medical/public health literature by using a variety of resources (journal databases, evidence based practice databases, grey literature, and freely available quality resources on the web).  Her areas of interest include open access initiatives in scientific communications, public health law, public health legal preparedness, emergency preparedness, disaster medicine and public health, consumer health information-seeking behaviors, and problem-based learning. 

Ms. Willson received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology (with a minor in Sociology) from Manhattan College, a Master of Science degree in Library & Information Science from Pratt Institute, and a Master of Public Health degree from Long Island University – Brooklyn.
