We spend two days learning about Incan culture with Hilda, our guide who leads us through the Incan ruins in the Urubamba Valley, northwest of Cuzco. The last ruins we visit are in the town. Ollantaytambo. Our bus leaves us and we depart by train Machu Picchu Puelbo, the town closest to the Incan ruins at Machu Picchu.
A crack of dawn departure for a guided exploration of Machu Picchu.
Part of the afternoon is spent at the thermal baths on the outskirts of Machu Picchu Puelbo. We journey by train back to Ollantaytambo where we then board a waiting bus back to Cuzco for the night.
