The Colonials enter the 2003-04 season with the desire to return to prominence, not only in the conference, but also in the Northeast Region. Their season schedule, as always, is one of the toughest in the NYCAC with a non-conference game against Bryant College at home to open the campaign. Then in December, they travel to Massachusetts to play two teams that participated in the 2003 NCAA Tournament, Assumption College and the College of Saint Rose. The game against Saint Rose will be the first time the Colonials have squared off against the Golden Knights since they toppled them for the 2001-02 ECAC Championship.

The Runnin' Colonials' man-to-man defense will be their calling card for the 2003-04 season. Last season without the use of any zones or a full court press the team was ranked fourth in the NYCAC in team steals swiping 8.3 per game. This brand of swarming, "in your face" defense will be the trigger to Southampton's success. The team's close-knit nature will be reflected in its unselfish play on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.

The Colonials lost three players from last year's roster and they have replaced them with junior college transfer, 6'2'' Ronnie White, from Suffolk Community College, and 6'6'' Sam Carey, who was unable to compete last season. Combined with the players from last season, these additions should help Southampton Graduate Campus step up and return to the NYCAC playoffs, and along the way, garner another invitation to the post-season tournament.
