Nyree Frazier is a player who comes to Southampton with the will and determination to succeed. Designated as a red-shirt for the upcoming season, she plans to use the season as a springboard for future success.
Frazier attended The Bridge Academy in Connecticut where she scored over 1,000 points and snatched over 1,000 rebounds. She intends to "work hard and enjoy the sport."
Playing on a team as motivated and full of leaders as the Lady Colonials, Frazier will be presented a golden opportunity to develop her skills.
"She'll be practicing with the team and be ready to compete next season," said Head Coach Jim Meyer. According to Meyer, Frazier, who stands tall at six-foot is a strong and gifted player who will contribute next year.
For the moment, she is happy to have the opportunity to learn at Southampton. "I thought I wouldn't make it to college," she said, "but I had my family behind me." has great admiration for her teammates and in a game where team players and support are an integral part of success, she should be able to contribute to the Lady Colonials in ways that are not evident in the boxscore.
