Wednesday, February 10, 10:00--11:00 AM SPORTS MARKETING A local man with a lifelong history of involvement in the world of professional and collegiate athletics, Bernard Beglane will address contemporary issues in the industry of Sports Marketing/Management. Originally a sports columnist and writer for the Long Island Press, Beglane covered two Olympic Games (Munich and Montreal) as well as performed the duties of part-time Sports Information Director at Iona and Southampton Colleges and participated in the formation of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

Monday, March 8, 1:00--2:00 PM BUSINESS SENSE AND POLITICS Bernadette Castro, Commissioner NYS Parks & Recreation and a Bronx native, spent 16 years as executive of Castro Convertibles, a multimillion-dollar furniture empire built by her parents. After running for U.S. Senate in 1994, she was appointed Commissioner of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation by Gov. George Pataki. Her presentation will focus primarily on the combination of business sense and politics that has brought her such success.

Friday, April 23, 10:00--11:00 AM SMALL BUSINESS SYSTEMS Jim Reiser, of North Babylon, is an experienced, seasoned, corporate executive with an impressive history. Working for Teleport Communications Group, Inc., Reiser, aVietnam veteran, has overseen network planning, corporate quality, and human resources, as well as headed specific departments. In his presentation, Reiser will discuss the essentials of management systems and the pros and cons of entrepreneurship.
