Prominent Artists Highlight Master Art Workshop Exhibit

The works of prominent visiting artists who conducted this summer's workshops and critiqued participants in the 13th annual Master Art Workshop will be on display through Friday, Sept.17 in the Avram Gallery at Southampton College of Long Island University.

The Master Art Workshop Exhibition highlights 13 of the nation's most well-known artists and designers, including: Lynda Benglis, Richmond Burton, Mary Heilmann, Bryan Hunt, Mel Kendrick, Donald Lipski, Carlo Maria Mariani, Michael Rosch, Larry Rivers, Alan Shields, Ned Smyth, Esteban Vicente, and Jack Youngerman. Also on display in the Avram Family Gallery, from July 29 to 31, will be art work produced during the four-week workshops by the participants who came to Southampton from across the nation and abroad for undergraduate and graduate study.

The Master Workshop in Art is directed by Southampton College professors Yoshi Higa and Michael Rosch. The event, which is free and open to the public, is made possible in part by The Town of Southampton cultural arts/recreation grant.
