Those interested in returning to college for evening or graduate study at Southampton College of Long Island University are invited to attend a series of upcoming open house events designed to answer questions and streamline the enrollment process for prospective students.

These sessions are geared toward the older student interested in taking undergraduate or graduate courses on a flexible schedule, perhaps part-time or in the evenings or while working or taking care of families during the day.

The first two sessions are information receptions on Wednesday, November 17, and Thursday, December 2 from 2 - 6 p.m. in the Kanas Lobby of Chancellors Hall. Counselors from the Admissions Office will be available to meet one-on-one with prospective students to get them started on the application process.

The next two sessions are enrollment services days on Wednesday, January 12 and Thursday, January 20 from 2-6 p.m. in Kanas Lobby. During these sessions, prospective students can inquire, apply, register for classes and get financial aid assistance.

The Evening Program allows a student to finish his or her degree at night in either liberal studies or business. The College will accept up to 98 transfer credits from a four-year accredited undergraduate institution, and up to 68 credits from a two-year institution. To ease the transition to college life for those who have been away from an academic setting for a while, the College has a Director of New Student Programs and a Learning and Writing Center that is open in the evenings for tutoring and writing coaching on any subject.

The College offers graduate programs in Education, Writing and Gerontology. For further information, contact Noreen McKenna, Director of Graduate and Evening Admissions at Southampton College, 516-287-8200.
