Meet Southampton's New Alumni Director Carol Gilbert

Southampton College of Long Island University has appointed Carol Gilbert to the post of Director of Alumni Relations and Special Events. A long-time resident of Southampton, Ms. Gilbert served for 15 years as Director of Admissions; she has worked at the College since 1975.

"It's a natural transition for me because I personally know so many Southampton alums," said Ms. Gilbert. "It is gratifying to have a new reason to communicate with them and reconnect them with their college."

Ms. Gilbert is also Director of Alumni Relations for the alumni of the Friends World Program, which joined Long Island University in l991 after 25 years of existence as Friends World College, a private, independent college located in Huntington, NY.

"The Friends World alums have not been well-tended," according to Mr. Gilbert. "It will be fun to track them down, and hook them back up with each other and with us. Many of them are very interesting people, with great stories to tell."
