SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. - Laurent Reichert of Hampton Bays was named the Business Student of the Month for December 1998, by the Business Division at Southampton College of Long Island University. Along with the award, Reichert received a $50 U. S. Savings Bond from North Fork Bank of Melville.
Reichert, a senior majoring in international business, has lived in several countries in Europe, including Malta, France, and Spain. Following graduation, he will be headed to Latin America or Europe with entrepreneurial plans.
"The Business Division's international concentration has proven to be an irreplaceable complement to my career by providing experienced professors fully aware of an evolving global environment," said Reichert. The award recipient is selected by a committee of business professors and is based on academic excellence and contributions to the college and local communities.
