Southampton, NY - The Center for Creative Retirement at Southampton College rewards students Ewelina Rubin of New York, N.Y. and Gary Lechtrecker of Ridge, N.Y. with its annual scholarship. Rubin major is Marine Science and Lechtrecker is Secondary Education. Rubin, a Polish immigrant, and Lechtrecker, a retired laborer, both gave short speeches expressing their gratitude for their generous gift. The award ceremony was held on May 13 on the College campus. Founded by Clyde and Florence Matthews, the Center for Creative Retirement is in its 23 year.
