Southampton, NY - Southampton College freshmen attended a lecture this past week at LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton, New York. Anna Webb, Jen Ellendorf, Nichole Pfeifer, Steve Hauss, Sara Lehman and Matt Veres participated in the tour of the Reserve and explored the progressive ideas that LongHouse practices.
The students were there as part of the Southampton College Honors curriculum. Accompanied by Southampton College's Cooperative Education Program staff members Vee Bennett and Debbie Hare, the day trip enhanced their academic experiences by encouraging a broad concept of learning.
The mission of LongHouse Reserve is to exemplify living with art in all forms. Through its gallery, arboretum, sculpture gardens and programs, LongHouse brings together art and nature, aesthetics and spirit, with a strong conviction that the arts are central to living wholly and creatively.
