Southampton, NY - Southampton College of Long Island University received a prestigious honor when its Business Administration and Accounting Program recently received full accreditation by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).

IACBE, a specialized accrediting body for business and business-related degree programs in colleges and universities, measures the effectiveness of business education through outcomes assessment. "The IACBE recognizes the distinctive quality of our business programs and that our graduates are going on to find relevant and meaningful employment based upon their study here," said Southampton College Business Administration and Accounting Program Coordinator Dr. Herbert Sherman, who attended the IACBE annual conference in Seattle this month.

The accreditation puts Southampton College on par with some of the country's major universities. "It's an honor to be accepted and this accreditation provides another means of assuring students, parents, and the business community that the business degrees earned by students at Southampton College are of high quality," said Southampton College Provost Daniel J. Rodas.

Along with its traditional B.A. and B.S. programs in Business Administration and Accounting, Southampton College also offers a five year BS-MS in Accounting and graduate programs including a Master of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration in conjunction with Long Island University's Brentwood Campus.
