Southampton, NY - Southampton College will present a series of films made on or about Long Island. The series, entitled "Southampton College Proudly Presents The Dan's Papers They Made the Movie Here Film Festival," is free and open to the public.

The first two films, one a short, the other a feature-length, will be shown on Saturday, April 3 at 1 p.m. in Duke Lecture Hall at Southampton College.

"Coyote Beach" filmed in 2002 at Napeague by director Markus Griesshammer, is a risque modern, humorous, and, at times, reflective take on the eternal battle of the sexes set in the sand dunes of Long Island. The film takes a fresh look at the age-old question that plagues many couples, namely, who wears the pants in the family. The movie received the 21st Century Filmmaker Award for Best American Short at the 9th Avignon - New York Film Festival in 2003 and was shown at several festivals including the last year's Hampton International Film Festival.

1982's "Death Trap," features Michael Caine as a blocked writer, Dyan Cannon as his loving, naïve wife and Christopher Reeves as a former student who's written a play so flawless "even a gifted director couldn't ruin it."

Wall Street (1987): This is Oliver Stone's 1987 tale of greed featuring a brokerage wheeler and dealer (Charlie Sheen) selling his soul to The Street's highest roller (Michael Douglas) in an Oscar winning performance.

April 17

Somethin's Gotta Give (2003): A young man (Keanu Reeves) plays a doctor caring for a man (Jack Nicholson) who suffers a heart attack at the house of his young girlfriend's mother. While there, the elder man falls in love with the mom (Diane Keaton). The doctor also finds he has an attraction to her despite their age difference.

The series is hosted by film critic and Oscar and film festival judge Guy de Fraumeni and Sarah Halsey.
