Southampton College "Writers Talk" Presents Tales of a Literary Agent

631-287-8313Southampton, NY - Literary Agent Chris Calhoun will speak as part of the Southampton College "Writers Talk" lecture series on Wednesday, March 31 at 7:30 p.m. in the Pratt Center's Oceanview Lounge.
For twelve years, Calhoun has been a literary agent, representing fiction and non-fiction writers. His clients include historian Paul Fussell, "New Yorker" writer Lawrence Weschler and Susan Douglas, author of "The Mommy Myth." He is a partner at Sterling Lord Literistic, one of New York's premiere literary agencies.
Calhoun will talk about what agents are looking for, how to write a successful pitch letter, tips on finding the agency that best represents the kind of work a writer is producing, how to get a manuscript into shape before submission and how to find a home for a particular work and genre. There will be a question and answer session for participants.
