631-287-8313Southampton, NY — Legendary rock icon Rod Stewart will wind up his current tour with a benefit concert at Southampton College of Long Island University on Monday, August 23 at 7:30 p.m. A limited number of general admission tickets, priced at $55 each, are still available. Concert-goers are encouraged to purchase tickets now as Stewart’s 1998 benefit performance at the College was a huge success, entertaining a sell-out crowd of and raising funds for the College’s nationally-known programs in marine and environmental science. To date, "All For The Sea" has raised nearly $13 million since debuting in 1992.

From his three-decade-plus career, the raspy-voiced, spiky-haired Stewart has run the musical gamut from folksy balladeer to hard rocker to disco king. This year’s "All For The Sea" concert will take fans down a musical memory lane that stretches back to his 1971 hit, "Maggie May," to his latest incarnation as an interpreter of cherished pop standards. "It Had to Be You… The Great American Songbook" has earned him a Grammy nomination, debuted on "Billboard" magazine’s top album chart and sold millions of copies worldwide thus creating a demand for a second volume, "As Time Goes By. . . The Great American Songbook, Vol. II" which was positioned in the Top 20 of "Billboard’s" most-purchased albums via the Internet.
On the day of the concert, gates open at 5 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. rain or shine. General admission tickets are $55 and special packages are available for alumni (call 631-287-8347).
