Colonials Enter Sixth Conference Game Against NYIT with an Undefeated 5-0 Record

Fax: (631) 287-8054Southampton, NY The Southampton College Colonials are on an impressive nine game win streak and have brought their overall record to 10-1-2, and an undefeated 5-0 in the NYCAC conference. With those totals the Colonials are now ranked 16th in the nation among Division II schools
The Colonials defeated St. Thomas Aquinas by a score of 5-0 at home on Wednesday keeping their record in the conference absolutely perfect. Freshman Darien Brito got Southampton College on the board with a goal off an assist from sophomore Alee Farrohi at 20:15 in the first half. The game remained close for the remainder of the half and the Colonials went into the locker room with a 1-0 lead.
Then in the second half the tides began to turn and the Colonials proved that they deserved an undefeated record. Farrohi scored at 63:28 off an pass by freshman John Pramgard. Brito then struck for the second time, a mere :22 seconds later, off an assist from sophomore Ricky Hedman and the score was suddenly 3-0 in the Colonials favor.
Senior Kiriakos Michailidis made his return to the field a productive one scoring a goal at 78:22 off a pass from sophomore Terence Goin, his first goal of the season. Then Michialidos netted another off the foot of sophomore Martin Guss at 87:14.
Sophomore goalkeeper Oscar Havas stopped two shots in net to give the Colonials the shutout. The Colonials now face NYIT at home on Saturday, October 25th, at 2:00pm, in what will be their sixth conference match up of the season. Entering the game with a 5-0 conference record, and ranked 16th in the nation, it doesnt look like they can be stopped.
