Colonials Ready Themselves for NY Tech

Southampton, NY — The Southampton College Colonials made it eight in a row on Saturday when they defeated the 8-3-2 Dowling Golden Lions 2-1. The Colonials improved their record to 9-1-2 and their conference record to 4-0-0. "This was a huge win for us, I couldn’t be more proud of my guys," said Colonials coach Andreas Lindberg.

Freshman midfielder John Pramgard scored a goal and added an assist to Senior Andreas Nilsson for the game winner. The team enjoyed the win, but they are already looking ahead to battling New York Tech for the Conference’s best record.

New York Tech visits Southampton College on Saturday, October 25, kickoff is at 2:00 P.M. As part of Soccer Alumni weekend the team hopes to make the alumni proud. New York Tech is 11-1-2 with a conference record of 5-0-0.

"This will really be a battle. Number 1 versus number 2, this is for first place," said Lindberg, who looks forward to the challenge. "A win against New York Tech would be a huge step towards getting a bid to the NCAA tournament." Coach Lindberg and the team are gearing up for a battle and it should be a stunner.
