The production will be narrated by Emmy- and Tony award winning, veteran Hollywood star Eli Wallach; the program will be hosted by WLIU's Bonnie Grice along with Long Island University's Trustee Chairman Roger Tilles.
This chamber music concert is the second of four programs from this season's Music at Hillwood "Intimate Afternoon" series that centers on music, poetry and commentary from the Romantic era. Each concert consists of live music and a literary reading. "Opera With and Without Singers" features Puccini's Quartet for Strings, Mahler's Quartet for Piano and Strings, Verdi's Quartet for Strings and arias by Mozart, Puccini and Verdi. Pianist Caroline Stoessinger, the founder and host of the Music at Hillwood series, joins Wallach for this concert.
