Time is running out to bid in the Eighth Annual Silent Auction to benefit the Career Center at Southampton College of Long Island University.

The auction ends August 23. There are over 140 items up for grabs this year, including tickets to plays, concerts, New York Mets and passes to the All For The Sea concert with Bob Dylan; gift certificates for makeovers, legal advice, auto body repair, toys, sporting goods, whale-watch cruises, water skiing lessons; and items such as wine, art, candy, jewelry and a fabulous 10 day vacation in Antigua and several Bed and Breakfast offerings and much more

The Career Center serves both students and community members by providing job listings, occupational information, directories, periodicals and interactive computerized career exploration programs used in the work world. Last year's silent auction raised more than $5700 for the Career Center.

Co-chairs of this year's auction are Judy Goodsell of Tortorella Pools and Pat Pescod Kollhopp of Prudential Realty.

Bidding is easy: A bidder just names what he or she is willing to pay for any of the items offered. The highest bid wins.
