WLIU 88.3 FM has teamed up with the Tilles Center on the C.W. Post campus of Long Island University to bring four chamber music concerts to its listeners. Part of the "Music at Hillwood" series at the Tilles Center, these four programs will center around music, poetry and commentary from the Romantic era. Each concert will consist of live music and a literary reading with special guest hosts, and will be broadcast live on WLIU 88.3 FM on four Sundays at 3 p.m.

On October 20, 2002, the first program, "Songs With and Without Words," will feature renowned actress Zoe Caldwell narrating Schumann's Dichterliebe with baritone Terry Cook performing Mendelssohn's Song Without Words for Cello and Piano Trio in O Minor. Andrew Berger, Education Director at the Tilles Center and former program host at WNYC along with Roger Tilles, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Long Island University will co-host this concert.

Future concerts in the series include: "Opera With and Without Singers," on December 8, 2002, featuring works from Puccini, Mozart, Verdi and Mahler; "A Love Triangle: Robert, Clara, Johannes" on March 9, 2003, with music from both Schumann and Brahms; and "Musical Friendships" on May 4, 2003, featuring Brahms, Mahler and Dvorak.
