Edward Godfrey Named Distinguished Alumnus of Southampton College1971 Graduate to be Honored at College Commencement on May 19th

- Edward Godfrey, a 1971 graduate of Southampton College, has been named the 2002 Distinguished Alumnus of Southampton College. He will be honored at the College commencement ceremonies on May 19.
Godfrey, who received a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, is recognized for his philanthropic efforts and affiliations with organizations such as Big Brothers, Parents and Children Services of the Children's Mission, Inc. and the Copley Square Centennial Committee. He is a pilot and a member of The Angels of Mercy, a group of pilots who fly people in need to distant hospitals at no charge.
His generous contributions to Southampton College have resulted in the establishment of the Edward & Judy Godfrey Scholarship in Business.
Godfrey has served as the CFO of Evergreen Investment Management Co. in Boston, MA, an investment advisory service since 1996. The company was previously known as Keystone Investments Inc. until it was purchased by First Union Corp., manager of the Evergreen family funds, acquired Keystone Investments. From 1989 through 1996 he held several positions within Keystone Investments including Senior Vice President, CFO and Treasurer.
He is a former trustee of both the Federal Real Estate Investment Trust and Equitable Life Mortgage and Realty Investors, and serves as an Officer of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT).
Godfrey and his wife live in Atlanta, GA.
