- The Continuing Studies Department at Southampton College is offering a six course program designed to meet the educational requirements to become a Certified Financial Planner.
The six courses are Introduction to Personal Financial Planning, The Financial Planning Process, Retirement Planning and Employee Benefits, Insurance Planning and Risk Management, Personal Income Tax and Estate Planning, and Investment Planning and Analysis. The Investment course will be offered on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. from June 4 through August 20.
The CFP designation is recognized as an indication of superior planning skills, impeccable ethics and up-to-date knowledge. In addition to the courses, CFP candidates are required to sit for a 10 hour, 2 day comprehensive examination and earn 30 continuing education courses every two years.
