Fall is upon us once more, and so in the spirit of pumpkin pie, sweaters and fireside chats, the Office of Continuing Studies at Southampton College introduces the Fall catalogue. A wide variety of new classes, as well as the regular favorites, are being offered this semester.

Several new instructors have come on board enhancing the already-wide variety and expertise of the Continuing Studies faculty. Barbara Wersba, author, former reviewer for the New York Times Book Review and founder of The Bookman Press, is offering a memoir-writing course, "What is Remembered"; Mark Edie, traveling photographer and Manhattan-based studio owner, will be discussing "The Business of Photography"; designer, illustrator and author, Gail Toma, will be painting "A Garden of Watercolors"; and documentarian and videographer Kimberly Bonsey will be guiding students to "Home Movie Mastery". These distinguished professionals are all experts in their respective fields who bring interest, knowledge and enthusiasm to their teaching.

With the help of returning faculty, the Continuing Studies office is excited to offer additional installments of the most popular courses: Beginner Bagpipes, Certification in Home Inspection, Legal Nurse Consultant, Portuguese, and The Art of Printmaking. Busy professionals who want to exercise their creativity, or free spirits interested in exploring something of structure will find a Continuing Studies course tailored to their interests.

Top language instructors will return to teach a range of English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, both intensive and part-time. The ESL department is known for its dedication to students and its commitment to the highest standard of learning.

Saturday morning children's programs include sculpting, writing and drawing.

The Office of Continuing Studies is pleased to extend these opportunities to the community and looks forward to welcoming students to campus. Call (631) 287-8316 for more information and to request a brochure.
