Short Story Writer Jane Ciabattari to Read at Southampton College's Writers Talk

- Jane Ciabattari, the award-winning short story writer and journalist, will be the featured speaker at Southampton College's "Writer's Talk" lecture series. Her talk is scheduled for Wednesday, May 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the College's Duke Lecture Hall.
Ciabattari is an accomplished journalist, editor, and short story writer. She is a contributing editor to Parade Magazine and has worked as managing editor of California Living, the Sunday magazine of the San Francisco Examiner & Chronicle, and senior consulting editor in fiction at McCall's. She has also served on the editorial board of Story Magazine. She was the editor in chief of Dial, and the managing editor at Redbook. Her short stories have been published in The North American Review, Denver Quarterly, Hampton Shorts (which honored her with an Editors' Choice STUBBY Award in 1996), The East Hampton Star, Blueline, Caprice, and Redbook, which nominated her for a National Magazine Award. Her debut collection of short stories, Stealing the Fire, has just been released by Canio's Editions.
