Miss your chance for tickets to this past weekend's staging of "Women on Fire" in Riverhead? Don't fret. The show that quickly sold out there will be reprised by popular demand by The Southampton Players February 14-16, 2003, in the Avram Theater at Southampton College of Long Island University. Friday and Saturday shows start at 8 p.m. Sunday's show is at 2 p.m. Ticket are $15/$12 for students and seniors. For reservations, call (631) 287-8480.

"Women on Fire" is a series of vivid monologues delivered by diverse and lively female characters, ranging from an advertising executive to a caregiver to a college professor.

This Vail-Leavitt Theater Company event is directed by Toni Munna and produced by Stacy Dermont through their Women's Voices, Women's Lives series. "Women on Fire" was written by Irene O'Garden, whose first book, "Fat Girl," was recently published with her drawings in hardcover by Harper San Francisco. She has two children's books with Harper and has published in many literary magazines.

A series of several vignettes, "Women on Fire" has already been accepted to appear next fall Off-Broadway at Manhattan's Cherry Lane Theater, starring Judith Ivey. Munna said that the Southampton College show will expand upon the Riverhead production: "With The Southampton Players' support, we're able further develop the show, adding some of O'Garden's most moving monologues."
