Fax: (631) 283 4081Southampton College of Long Island University received a prestigious honor when its Professional Studies Division recently received initial accreditation by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).
"This accreditation puts us on par with some of the country's major colleges," said Southampton College Professional Studies Chair Dr. Herbert Sherman. "The IACBE recognized that the quality and quantity of our business programs were increasing and our graduates were going on to find relevant and meaningful employment based upon their study here."
Along with its traditional BA and BS programs in Business Administration and Accounting, Southampton College in recent years has added several new areas of study including Certified Financial Planning, Sports Administration and Web Programming, and graduate programs that include a Master of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration in conjunction with Long Island University's Brentwood Campus.
To learn more about Southampton College's academic offerings, the public is invited to an Open House on Saturday, April 7, from 1 to 5 p.m. Call 631-287-8200 to reserve a place or for further admissions information.
Accreditation by the IACBE is based on an independent evaluation of a College's business degree programs by a group of professional business educators. Accreditation provides a means of assuring students, parents, and the business community that the business degrees earned by the students are of high quality. Based in Overland Park, Kansas, the IACBE has centers around the globe.
