College Welcomes Prospective Students and Families for Open House/Parents' Weekend, October 19-20Contact:

Fax: (631) 283 4081Southampton College of Long Island University will hold an Open House/Parent's Weekend on Friday, October 19 and Saturday, October 20.
The weekend's activities will allow prospective students and their families to learn first-hand about Southampton's many outstanding programs. Participants can meet faculty and staff, ask questions about the application process or financial aid, take guided tours of the campus, learn about academic majors and experiential education opportunities, and attend a Ladies Colonials soccer match on Saturday afternoon.
The weekend begins with the Provost's Reception on Friday evening in Kanas Lobby, Chancellors Hall and continues with activities throughout the weekend. On Saturday morning faculty presentations will take place in Chancellors Hall. Prospective students can learn about several unique programs that are offered at Southampton College including Friends World, co-operative education opportunities, Seamester, Australia programs, psychobiology, and more.
For prospective students the weekend begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 20 in the Avram Lobby at the Fine Arts Building. An Academic Information and Student Life Fair, a performance of Southampton's "Say Anything" improvisational theater group, academic sessions with faculty members from each program, brunch, and presentations on Southampton's travel, writers and computer arts programs are some of the events planned throughout the day.
Guests will have ample opportunity to gather information on academic programs in arts and media, business, humanities, education, social science, natural science, psychology/biology, environmental studies/environmental science, marine science, and the Friends World Program of study abroad.
Special presentations on Studying Animal and Human Behavior, athletics, the Macintosh Computer Lab, the Seamester travel course, and job opportunities in the graphic design and technology field, are planned. Tours of the campus bookstore, the Avram Family Art Gallery, the Marine Station and the state-of-the-art graphics computer lab will be available.
