Non-fiction Writing for Women, Traditional Tapestry Techniques, and a Web Design Program Offered by Continuing Studies DepartmentContact:

Fax: (631) 283 4081A course designed to help women get their non-fiction writing published, learning tapestry techniques, and a Web design certificate program are part of the new fall line-up of evening and weekend courses offered by the Continuing Studies Department of Southampton College.
East End Women's Network "Woman of the Year" Marcia Rosen will teach "Writing Non-fiction for Women;" Pamela Topham will help students learn traditional tapestry techniques to create their own tapestry, and Scott Fisher will head a six-course certificate program in Web design.
Other instructors are Peconic Baykeeper Kevin McCallister addressing key issues of Long Island waters, Simon Booy discussing the maritime history of Long Island and Motier Haskins teaching a workshop on school violence prevention called Project SAVE.
Adults who would like to extend and enhance their career path have the opportunity to enroll in certificate or licensing programs, which are scheduled throughout the academic year. Computers, real estate, health and legal professions, writing, business, foreign languages are just a few of the other programs being offered. Also, individuals who wish to learn or strengthen their English, are encouraged to participate in the College's acclaimed English as a Second Language program.
