Modern Dance Performance to Be Held in Avram TheaterContact:

Fax: (631) 283 4081Southampton College hosts "Modern Times," an eclectic evening of dance, on Saturday, May 12, at 8 p.m. in the Avram Theater. A suggested donation of $5 will be collected to benefit the Jason Vercelletto Memorial Scholarship fund. For further information, call 631-723-0744.
Southampton College dance instructor Joshua Perl heads the event and will perform along with top graduate and undergraduate students and alumni. Styles will range from jazz dance and hip-hop to lyrical and comic. Perl has worked with Pilobolus Dance Theatre, the Vermont Shakespeare Festival, the New York Shakespeare Festival and various TV shows including "One Life to Live," "Days of Our Lives," and "Not Necessarily the News."
The Jason Vercelletto Memorial Scholarship goes to high-achieving Southampton College Marine Science undergraduate students who aim to preserve the environment. It was started last year in honor of Vercelletto, who died of cystic fibrosis at the age of 22, just weeks after achieving his lifelong goal: a degree in Marine Science.
