If you knew the answer to that bit of Southampton College trivia and attended a recent fundraiser, you could be nice and suntanned right now after winning a trip to the Caribbean.
A unique game show emceed by MFA in Writing Professor and Time essayist Roger Rosenblatt highlighted an evening honoring environmentalists Adrianne and Jerry Cohen at New York's Laura Belle restaurant in March. Jerry Cohen is on the College's Board of Overseers.
Then in April, Chancellor Robert FX Sillerman hosted a before-and-after party with writer Mel Brooks and the cast of Broadway's runaway hit, "The Producers," at legendary Sardi's restaurant. Sillerman is an investor in the play that stars Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane and Cady Huffman. Dinner and cocktail parties bookended a theatrical preview.
The two events netted over $500,000 for Marine and Environmental Science scholarships. And the bestseller? Rod Stewart, of course.
