The benefit, now in its 23rd year, will feature hors d'oeuvres, an open bar and dancing to the music of DJ Dory Seymore, along with caricatures by Debra Gray and mind-boggling magic by Gary Levinson.
A silent auction of more than 100 donated items, including a "Family Beach Portrait" by photographer Kim Covell and 4 tickets to "The Producers" including Dinner, 4 "All for the Sea" tickets, 8 Big Apple Circus tickets, Organic Garden worth $750.00, motor bike, dinners, lunches and much, much, more. The winners of three raffle prizes - $2000.00 cash, a top-of-the-line mountain bike, and a DVD player - also will be announced at the event.
At 10 p.m., auctioneer Anton Kiembock will kick-off a live auction of original works of art by students in the Playgroup, Nursery and Pre-K programs at The Children's School. One of the treasures to be auctioned off is a colorful quilt - hand quilted by teacher Peggy Jonas Applin -, which features self-portraits created by students in her two nursery classes.
"As our community continues to expand, the need for providing early childhood education opportunities for children on the East End is paramount," said Kathy Bishop, Director of The Children's School. "This annual fund-raiser provides essential funding for a scholarship fund that benefits the neediest families in the community, as well as funding for our ongoing educational programs."
More than 300 members of the community are expected to attend the Club Colette event, and all proceeds will directly benefit The Children's School at Southampton College. The highly regarded school uses a developmental approach to early childhood education, and provides area children with a rich variety of activities and materials so that they leave the school with a love of learning and a solid foundation for Kindergarten and beyond.
Tickets cost $40.00 in advance, and $50.00 at the door. Event tickets and raffle tickets are now on sale at the Clam Man Seafood Market, Rotations, Windmill Video, Watermill Rental and Catena's Market.
