White Whales and Blackfish Covered in Final Marine Science Lecture

Southampton, NY - Dr. David J. St. Aubin of the Mystic (CT) Aquarium, an expert on marine mammals, will offer the final lecture Thursday, November 30, in the McGrath-sponsored lecture series at Southampton College of Long Island University. This is the last of the Marine Science lecture series for the fall season.

"Travels with Blackfish and White Whales" is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the Business Center Lecture Hall (the lecture was originally set to take place at Duke Lecture Hall). The lecture is free and open to the public.

Dr. St. Aubin has been Director of Research and Veterinary Services at the Mystic Aquarium since 1993; prior to that he taught in the Department of Pathology at the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada. His research interests include marine mammal strandings, the satellite tracking of whales, and health monitoring of whales, among other topics. He has done extensive writing on the effects of oil spills on marine mammals.
