Renowned Chinese Soloist Performs at Avram Theater

The event is sponsored by Southampton College's Arts and Media Division and will be held in the Avram Family Theater on Sunday, March 12, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased at the door. Call (631) 287-8427 for further information.
Feng will perform selections of traditional Chinese music on the pipa, a stringed instrument similar to the lute. Feng began her musical training at the age of eight. At 14, she was admitted into Shenyang Musical Conservatory, one of the finest and most selective music institutes in China. She came to the United States in 1996 and went on to perform in Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center and on MTV, and in concert halls in Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Philadelphia.
She will perform alongside the New York Feitian Traditional Art Performing Company, an ensemble that plays traditional instruments of China.
