Fax: (631) 283 4081Southampton College continues its "Writers Talk" series of literary readings/lectures with poet, writer and literary magazine editor Martin Tucker on Thursday, October 5, in Duke Lecture Hall. Following him will be poet and author Robert Dana on Thursday, October 12, in the Business Center Lecture Hall.

Dr. Tucker is the editor of the award-winning literary magazine Confrontation, which has won a Pushcart Prize and an O'Henry Best Stories of the Year Award. An English professor at Long Island University, he is the author of several literary studies and the editor of more than 20 volumes of literary encyclopedia as well as two collections of his poetry. Recent publications include a review-essay in American Book Review and three poems in Sarasota Review of Poetry. His most recent book of poetry is "Attention Spans" (Potpourri Publications, 1997).
Dana is an Iowan and poet-in-residence at Cornell College. The author of eight books of poetry, he has served as distinguished visiting writer at four universities and was awarded a National Endowment Fellowship in 1985. Dana won the Delmore Schwartz Memorial Award for Poetry in 1989. Recent books include "Summer," "What I Think I Know" and "Yes, Everything."
