Over 100 items have been donated for the Silent Auction including Knicks and Yankees tickets, Broadway show tickets, gift certificates to stores and restaurants, VIP tickets to the College's All For The Sea Concert, artwork by renowned painter Gines Serran-Pagan, and a complete autographed collection of Paul Simon's music.
The event begins at 7 PM, and tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door. Proceeds will benefit The Children's School early education program at Southampton College of Long Island University and the Mr. & Mrs. Harry Lillywhite Scholarship fund, named for the founders of the Southampton toy store. The scholarship provides tuition for children with need.
The Children's School, founded in 1978, is a nursery school and playgroup program for children ages 2-5 years old and is based on a developmental approach to early childhood education. The school also provides a valuable learning laboratory for education and psychology students at the college, providing them with hands-on experience. The school is located at Southampton College to take advantage of the 110-acre campus and its facilities.
