Preparations are now underway for the Sixth Annual Silent Auction to benefit the Career Resource Center at Southampton College of Long Island University. Donations of products or services are now being sought.

The Career Center serves both students and community members by providing job listings, occupational information, directories, periodicals, and interactive computerized career exploration programs used in the work world. Last year's silent auction raised more than $5,700 for the Career Center.

Items or services donated to the auction will be listed in a brochure that is sent to 4,000 companies and individuals. Items are also listed on the College web page. Anyone interested in donating an item or service, should call the Career Center at 287-8274. Bidding will take place through July 19th. Tickets to sports and entertainment events, dinners in local restaurants, gift certificates and various services were among last year's items.

Co-chairs of this year's auction are Judy Goodsell of Tortorella Pools and Pat Pescod Kollhopp of Prudential Realty.

For more information about donating an item or bidding, call the Career Office at 287-8274.
