The Avram Theater at the Southampton College Fine Arts Center

The Southampton Players? 2004-05 season brings back the recipe that has made them one of Eastern Long Island's most popular troupes. They have also added more weekends of performances and even more talent and fun.

Best known for their rollicking musicals with large casts and elaborate sets, the burgeoning troupe has become one of Eastern Long Island's most popular in recent years under the direction of Michael Disher. The Players, based at Southampton College's beautifully refurbished Avram Theater, regularly sell out shows and attract some of the area's top actors, who share their skills with Southampton College's wealth of younger talent.

The beautifully refurbished Avram Theater and Avram Family Galleries were made possible through the generosity of Dr. and Mrs. Morrell Michael Avram, long-time supporters of the College and the arts. With increasing summer venues and consistent critical praise, Southampton Players has become one of the East End's most respected companies. Southampton Players is a non-profit theatre group that relies upon the generosity of theatre-lovers and patrons to enhance these productions year after year.

SOUTHAMPTON PLAYERS OUTREACH THEATRE (S.P.O.T.)

The mission of S.P.O.T. is to present Southampton Players an opportunity to give more than theatre to their surrounding communities. Through S.P.O.T., the Players have provided benefit performances to local veterans and have toured local high schools with their production Better Choices, Better Chances, and HIV/STD awareness presentation designed and intended to educate students and promote wiser judgments.
