Long Island University's Homeland Security Management
Institute offers an accredited, 15-credit
Advanced Certificate in Homeland Security Management as well as a 36-credit
Master of Science in Homeland Security Management, both delivered fully online.
These two programs are available to professionals working
in law enforcement, Emergency Management, the military, fire
fighting or HazMat operations, corporate or private security,
the intelligence community, or any other Homeland Security
field, as well as to those who aspire to pursue management
careers in various homeland security fields.
These programs have been recognized as one of the nation's three leading graduate programs in the Homeland Security field.
The Advanced Certificate is fully registered with the New York State Education Department. Part-time and full-time study options are available.
The M.S. in Homeland Security Management is a 12-course, 36-credit program –
the first of its kind in New York State and Long Island
University's first fully online degree. Part-time and
full-time study options are also available.
A substantial one-third (1/3) discount is available to qualified
municipal employees. Scholarships and financial aid
are also available to certain applicant groups. Please check with our Admissions

Accreditation and Program Registration
Long Island University at Riverhead is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104, (215) 662-5606. The Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. The degree and certificate programs also are approved and registered by the New York State Department of Education. The academic programs of the Homeland Security Management Institute of Long Island University at Riverhead are registered with the New York State Education Department and accredited by the Commission of Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.
