Community Service

This connects directly to the fact that one of the basic foundations of our school is to make the World a better place. It is also important in the sense that you are giving something back to the environment which is giving you an education.

The North American Center has a requirement for some kind of Community Service project to be done over the course of the fall semester of the First-Year Program, often as a partial-credit course. Faculty help students find opportunities to volunteer on the Southampton Campus or in the local area.

The Latin American Center expects students to perform volunteer service as part of their Field Projects.

Other Centers may have other systems, which should added here in the future.

Community Service might also include working for your Learning Community at Friends World. The work of Student Coordinators and especially of the Student Executive goes directly back to your colleagues.
