Long Island University Board of Trustees sets tuition and fees for
each coming year in the month of June.
Students will be billed by Long Island University for their
tuition and fees, room/board charges and center fees.
Financial Aid does not get applied
to a student's account for at
least five weeks into each semester. Students should plan to bring enough money
to cover their initial expenses.
Students should also plan on budgeting an additional $800-$1,000
a semester for books and personal needs.
Not included in estimated costs: mandatory health/accident
insurance (may range from $530 - $1,255 per year) if proof of current
insurance is not provided on time; travel to U.S. departure city,
passport, travel visa, and recommended inoculations. These additional costs may add several hundred
dollars to the year's budget and will vary considerably from student
to student, depending on the particular situation and semester plans.
Room/board stipends are wired directly
to the international centers for all officially registered students. Students on academic probation or with outstanding
balances are NOT officially registered, and should therefore contact
the Friends World Registrar.
Refund Policy: When a student withdraws, the University
will refund tuition and room/board fees according to the following
schedule: Cancellation prior to beginning of semester or session:
Complete refund except for deposit and applicable registration fee.
Refund schedule for Fall/Spring semester, determined by time of
withdrawal: 1st calendar week - 90% refund; 2nd calendar
week - 75% refund; 3rd calendar week - 50% refund; 4th calendar
week - 25% refund; after 4th week - No Refund.
