Southampton Graduate Campus WRITING SCHOLARSHIP
INFORMATION & INSTRUCTIONS
ELIGIBILITY
- Scholarship candidates must be applicants for admission to Southampton Graduate Campus.
- Candidates must major in English.
- Candidates must have a 530 minimum score on the SAT Verbal or 21 on the ACT Verbal and a B+ average in English courses.
AWARDS
- Scholarship winners will be selected by members of the Humanities Department.
- Scholarships range from $1,000 - $6000 per year.
- Scholarships are renewable annually by maintaining a 3.0 average at Southampton Graduate Campus.
HOW TO APPLY
- Submit a portfolio of up to 20 pages. Submission categories are at the candidate's discretion, and may include, but are not limited to poetry, drama, fiction, non-fiction, or manuscripts.
- All pages must be typed, double-spaced, with candidate's name and social security number on each page.
- Submissions will be returned upon request if candidate encloses a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
- Faxed or e-mailed submissions are not acceptable.
- Priority will be given to portfolios and completed applications for admission received before February 1st, 2000.
- Portfolio reviews are required for admission to the English and Writing Program.
