| This unique preparatory program for foreign students was developed
to facilitate the student's successful application for an undergraduate
course of study in an American university or graduate school.
The program is designed as a one year program, although the
student can take individual semesters as well. Each semester
provides the following special features:
- An intensive English Language
Program designed to bring each student's English capacity
to TOEFL level
- TOEFL & Conversation classes
- Special advisory seminars
and counseling
- Personal evaluations of the
student's academic history and ability
- How to select a graduate
or undergraduate program for a freshman or transfer
- Guidance in preparing a portfolio
for submission to the school of the student's choice and
all other necessary documents
- Auditing academic courses
- Off campus activities including
visits to museums, galleries, places of interest in the
Hamptons, Long Island, and New York City led by a PAUP activities
director.
Each participant in this program will room with an American
student in a regular campus dormitory. PAUP students will have
access to all campus and student activities.
Documents Needed for an I-20 Form
- Admissions Application -
Filled out by the student. A non-refundable admissions fee
of $120.00 is required.
- Copy of passport / visa and
any correspondence you have had with the Immigration Service.
- A notarized statement from
sponsor stating that he / she will be responsible for the
student.
- Original letter from sponsor's
bank stating that sponsor has $21,500.00 in US dollars in
the bank. Depending upon length of stay, the minimum amount
may be increased.
- Letter written by student
stating that student wishes to enroll in the ESL program
at Southampton Graduate Campus.
When the above documents have been assembled, they will be presented
to the Director of the English Language Institute at Southampton
College and an I-20 will be issued if everything seems in order.
The student then presents the I-20 Form and supporting documents
to the consul in the country they are entering the U.S. from.
There is never any guarantee that the consul will, in turn,
issue a student visa.
