The best way to learn about marine ecology is up close and personal.
Southampton Graduate Campuss location on the East End of Long Island
provides an excellent laboratory for studying temperate marine ecology.
But to learn about tropical marine ecology, Southampton offers two
courses that immerse the student in the tropical marine environment.
One is Tropical
Marine Biology, which takes place during the month of January
in South Pacific locales like Fiji and Tonga. The other course, which
is the subject of this web page, is AustraLearn: Tropical Marine Ecology.
Throughout the month of June, students in this Tropical Marine Ecology
course investigate a variety of tropical environments on the Queensland
coast of Australia, the Great Barrier Reef, and at research stations
on three islands. Click on the buttons to the left to get a better
sense of where we go, what we do, and how to sign up!
