Anyone can learn this intriguing game that traces its roots back to 16th-century England and was later perfected and renamed “Contract Bridge” in 1925 by Harold S. Vanderbilt, great grandson of Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt.

Over the past few years, the immensely popular Texas Hold'em card game has swept the nation. Now, we're bringing the fever to Southampton. This class is designed with fun and friendship in mind. Expect a lighthearted yet informative introduction to this great poker game that takes only minutes to learn, but offers a lifetime of enjoyment. Become adept in the art of the bluff, and acquire the skills needed to forgo the requirement of a “cheat sheet” to determine the ranking of a winning hand! The two-class course will teach you the rules of Texas Hold'Em, and will discuss strategies of a winning hand, as well as how to set up your own Texas Hold'Em house party. In addition, the importance of table etiquette and betting effectively will be covered by playing an actual no-stakes game in class.

INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY: EXPLORING YOUR CREATIVITY WITH NEW TECHNOLOGY
Digital image making has opened the doors to self-expression. The instantaneous nature of this new phenomenon provides us with the ability to observe the world around us in ways that are unavailable through conventional image making. Whether you are frustrated with your new digital camera or are too intimidated to even open the box, this program will teach how operate your camera while cultivating your creativity. The first half of the course will include learning digital image making vocabulary, e-mailing, organizing your images, the printing process and image making techniques. The second half of the course will focus on exploring ways to use this new technology as an extension of your creative eye. The class will travel to various locations in the Southampton area to observe and communicate with this new language.
Required equipment and supplies: 3 mega-pixel (or more) digital camera with LCD screen on the back of the camera. Bring CD, cables and manual that came with the camera. Basic knowledge of operating a computer, including how to email.
